UK Job Vacancy – Business Development Manager

Company This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated person to join an expanding manufacturing company. Christie & Grey is a well-established, dynamic and market leading organisation that design and manufacture anti-vibration and shock isolation products. We supply to a wide range of marine, industrial, commercial, construction and defence clients.

Position The Sales team at Christie & Grey play a pivotal commercial role within the company, ensuring that new market opportunities are identified and new customer leads are developed. We are looking for a talented and proven Business Development Manager to join our professional and friendly team with the option of working from home or being based at our Head Office in Tonbridge.

          Role:

  • To identify and develop new opportunities predominantly in the UK and Europe, including finding and contributing to the effective recruitment/development of suitable professional agents as required.
  • Establish client requirements and specifications through technical/commercial meetings and specification reviews
  • Work closely with external consultants and specifiers in order to ensure that company products are specified for future projects
  • Research and identify new emerging market sectors for future sales opportunities and feedback any possible product development ideas to the Managing Director
  • Prepare commercial proposals and present these to the clients
  • Visit clients primarily in the UK and mainland Europe
  • Responsibility for achieving the company sales targets and profit targets within allocated sectors/markets.
  • Responsibility for overseeing all projects from quotation to order closure and delivery at final site
  • Preparing accurate forecasts of business and market needs, with formulated travel and sales strategies to achieve sales targets

Skills:

  • A proven business development track record within previous role
  • HND/C or degree qualified engineer in mechanical / marine or building services engineering.
  • A solution-seller
  • A strong relationship builder
  • Strong presentation skills

Desirable:

  • Previous engineering applications and sales experience
  • Knowledge of vibration isolation systems
  • Multi-Lingual preferable but not essential

UK Job Vacancy – Technical Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Technical Engineer to join our expanding manufacturing company.

Christie & Grey Limited is a well-established, dynamic and market leading organisation that designs and manufactures anti-vibration and shock isolation products. We supply to a wide range of marine, industrial, commercial, construction and defence clients.

Position

The Technical team at Christie & Grey Limited play a pivotal technical and commercial role within the company, ensuring products are applied correctly and new market opportunities are identified. We are looking for a talented Technical Engineer to join our professional and friendly team here at our Head Office in Tonbridge.

Role:

  • Carry out product selection and analysis of shock and vibration control systems using proprietary analysis software and FE software
  • Apply products to new applications
  • Aid in the design of new products and development of existing products
  • Assist the Technical Manager in determining suitability and improvement of existing and new production parts, materials and methods.
  • Establish client requirements and specifications through technical/commercial meetings and specification reviews
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals and present these to the clients
  • Visit clients, including some international travel

Candidate

You must:

  • Be degree or HNC/D qualified Engineer preferably in Mechanical Engineering, with at least two years’ experience in an engineering role.
  • Wish to take an active role in both the production requirements and application of the companies’ products.
  • Proficient in the use of a top end 2D/3D CAD package e.g. AutoCAD / Inventor / ProEngineer / Solidworks
  • Be comfortable meeting new people and developing relationships in an engineering and commercial environment.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of elastomer based vibration isolation systems, both in application and design.
  • Knowledge and experience of FEA packages e.g. AutoCAD Nastran Incad / Ansys
  • Previous engineering applications and sales experience
