Assembly Technician / Production Assistant

We are looking for a mechanically minded Assembly Technician / Production Assistant to join an expanding manufacturing company based in Tonbridge. This is a rare opportunity for a practical candidate, who is looking to learn new skills, to progress their career within a leading production facility. (A full Training programme will be provided)

For over 100 years, Christie & Grey have specialised in the manufacturing of rugged and efficient vibration, noise and shock control solutions for an array of clients in the marine, industrial, commercial, construction and defence sectors. Due to on-going success we are now seeking an Assembly Technician / Production Assistant to work within their production department and as part of our Site Installation Team.

Working closely with our Production Controller the Assembly Technician / Production Assistant will work within the workshop team to help assemble product ranges. On a day-to-day basis expect to assemble both small and large products (requiring some manual handling), use workshop equipment (bench drills, hydraulic presses, paint spraying and compressed air tools), work with the site installation team to assist with the installation of Acoustic Floating Floors (some time working away will be required) and anything else necessary to ensure products are assembles to the highest of standards.

We are looking for someone who is.

  • You are a practical and mechanically minded;
  • You ideally have some engineering experience;
  • You are willing to learn new skills and can multi task;
  • You are computer literate;
  • You have a full UK driving Licence.

Any exposure or experience of working on a construction site / production environment or working with mechanical & measuring equipment or finishing a product for despatch would be a bonus as would a CSCS Operator / Supervisor card. None of these are requirements for the role, they are nice to haves.
